Food Color Spray Cake Decorating

Review is by a home baker (Bride's aunt):

I have used Color Mist before (1-2 layers) for an effect & not as a "paint".

I used Wilton black icing coloring until a very slight change in the buttercream icing flavor started ( I didn't add vanilla until after taste change, so I could monitor the color affect on the American buttercream taste). The icing color was a medium flannel gray after using 1/3 of the color paste. I expected this.

I took the cake outside and used 3 layers of black Color Mist. I waited 1 hr between color mist sprays & the cake was brought into air conditioning (72F) to dry after each Color Mist layer. After waiting an hour after the 3rd Color Mist spray, the cake was too wet to decorate with the planned decorations. Fortunately, the bride had ordered greenery which a florist-cake decorator placed on the cake.

The black Color Mist was lovely, but with hot humid weather it did not go as planned. Color Mist sprays on easy to use if you follow directions and spray outside on a covered table (old shower curtain, paint tarp).

Here is a text from the Bride (yes, she is amazing & so is he):

The Groom "would not stop talking about how good his cake was. He hyped it up to all his friends!! I overheard him say "my cake looks modern. Like sleek. Isn't that legit" to one of his friend groups😂😂 SO, don't stress about the cake. He loved it😂"

A professional would have had a different outcome. Color Mist is a strong product. I will use it again.

Note: the bottom layer is a dummy cake. The top layer was for the couple to slice & taste.
